Effective study methods that you can apply to get your academic year off to a good start, which will help you maximise your learning, get organised and develop habits that will lead you to success. Let’s get started!

Tips for A-Levels make-up exams

1.- Plan carefully.

Start by creating a study calendar. Organise your subjects and assign specific times for each one. This planning will help you stay on track.

2.- Establish an ideal study space.

Find a quiet and comfortable place to study – avoid distractions and create your concentration zone!

3.- Summarise and outline.

When taking notes, summarise them and create outlines or concept maps. This will make it easier to review and understand the information.

4.- Make periodic revisions.

Take advantage of the fact that, at the beginning of the course, you have more time available to review what you have learned in class. Creating this review habit strengthens knowledge retention.

5.- Study in a group.

Sharing time, notes and information with your classmates can be very beneficial, so don’t hesitate to organise study groups to revise together!

6.- Create a reading habit!

Read actively and underline key ideas as you study. This will help you retain important information for later, when it’s time to study hard for exams. Practice reading comprehensively and critically, but don’t just read…. Analyse and question!

And remember… Don’t leave everything to the last minute! Because proper and timely preparation is key to achieving everything you set out to do at the start of a new course. So, by applying these study methods right from the start, you’ll be on the right track to achieve your goals and realise your full potential. Go for it!
